How it works

Tell us

A few minutes on any device: how you feel, what's stiff or sore, and what you want to work on. Nothing to download.

We check

Your answers go through safety questions written by a physiotherapist. If a physiotherapist should see you before you start, you're seen first.

Start

Most people start their physiotherapist-written programme the same day. A physiotherapist reviews every programme within 1 to 2 working days.

Built for every workforce.

Desk, warehouse, road or shop floor, in any sector. Everyone uses Kinemetry the same simple way: any device and a few minutes. Every exercise is written by our Chief Clinical Officer, an HCPC-registered physiotherapist.

An office worker sitting at a desk, reading through a printed document.
Desk-based

Sitting, screens, long hours in one position.

A warehouse worker pausing with both hands resting on a pallet jack handle between lifts.
Warehouse and logistics

Lifting, pushing, repetitive loads.

A delivery worker carrying a large cardboard box on one shoulder while unloading a round.
On the road

Driving, loading, long hours behind the wheel.

A supermarket worker restocking a chilled shelf during a shift.
Retail

Reaching, bending, restocking shifts.

Personal. Adaptable. Strategic.

Personal.

An HCPC-registered physiotherapist reviews every programme within 1 to 2 working days. Anyone who needs a physiotherapist before starting is seen first.

Adaptable.

One simple experience for office, warehouse, road and shop teams. As people progress, a physiotherapist moves their programme on.

Strategic.

Spot trends early, not after absence. Anonymised reports show where aches and pains are being reported, which workstations need attention and how support is being used, so you can act early.

No health cover? Kinemetry works on its own.

No private medical insurance, occupational health contract or other benefits needed. You sign up, and your whole workforce has access straight away.

Help from day one.

Many OH services start with a manager referral. With Kinemetry, employees ask for help themselves, and most start the same day.

Set-up guidance for every role.

Workstation and set-up guidance for desk, warehouse, road and shop teams, with a record for you.

Between health checks.

A health check is a snapshot. For people on a programme, Kinemetry checks in every week.

Alongside, not instead.

Kinemetry doesn't replace your OH provider or your benefits. It adds a fast, physiotherapist-led first step for every employee.

What MSK problems cost UK employers

MSK problems are one of the UK's leading causes of sickness absence.

7.1m

working days lost to work-related MSK problems in Great Britain in 2024/251

31%

of employers say MSK injuries are a top cause of long-term absence, second only to mental health2

49.7 days

of productive time lost per employee each year to ill health, on average. Most of it isn't sick days. It's people at work, but not at their best.3

The employee journey, start to finish

01

Tell us.

Most people start the same day, not in weeks.

02

Get your programme.

Built from a physiotherapist-written exercise library, and reviewed by a physiotherapist within 1 to 2 working days.

03

Stay on track.

Weekly check-ins track how you're doing. A physiotherapist adjusts your programme when it's time to progress.

04

Support when you need it.

If a check-in shows you need more help, a physiotherapist is alerted and gets in touch.

Desk-based staff also complete the DSE workstation assessment you're required to carry out, here on the platform, with physiotherapist-written guidance, a physiotherapist review of a workstation photo where needed, and a record for you. Drivers, warehouse and shop teams get set-up guidance for their work too.

One physiotherapist-led system.

Every programme sits under physiotherapist oversight. The safety rules and the exercise library are physiotherapist-written, and a physiotherapist reviews every programme. Nothing to install, nothing else to buy, and simple for HR to roll out.

The CIPD's 2025 survey of UK employers found an average of 9.4 days' sickness absence per employee, up from 7.8 in 2023.

Why Kinemetry exists

Over 388,000 people were on NHS community MSK waiting lists in August 2025, and in some regions the wait for a first assessment was more than 20 weeks.4 Kinemetry offers a faster first step. Most of your people start physiotherapist-written exercises the same day they tell us.

Design partner

We're working with a small number of UK employers to build Kinemetry. It's a partnership, not a waitlist. Design partners get direct access to both founders, clinical and commercial, and a real say in how your employees' experience is shaped.

Questions employers ask
What is Kinemetry?

Physiotherapist-led support for your whole workforce, on any phone, tablet or computer: set-up guidance for every kind of job, and exercise programmes for aches and pains.

Who is it for?

Employees aged 18 and over at UK employers in Great Britain, in any role.

How quickly can someone start?

Most people start the same day they sign up. If a safety question is flagged, a physiotherapist sees them first, within 1 to 2 working days.

Does a physiotherapist review every programme?

Yes. An HCPC-registered physiotherapist reviews every programme within 1 to 2 working days. Most people start their programme before that review. If any answer raises a safety flag, the programme waits and the case goes to the top of the physiotherapist's list, so they're seen before they start.

Who writes the exercises, and is each programme tailored?

Every exercise is written by our Chief Clinical Officer, an HCPC-registered Chartered Physiotherapist with more than 16 years' experience. Each person's programme is then built from that library around their own answers: where it's stiff or sore, how much it bothers them and how long it's been going on. The software does this within limits she sets, and a physiotherapist reviews every programme and adjusts it as the person progresses.

What if something needs urgent attention?

Kinemetry is not an emergency service. In an emergency call 999. For urgent medical advice call NHS 111. If a weekly check-in shows someone needs more help, a physiotherapist is alerted.

Do we need private medical insurance or occupational health to use Kinemetry?

No. Kinemetry is a direct benefit for your employees and works on its own. If you already have cover, it works alongside it.

We already have occupational health and health checks. Why add Kinemetry?

Kinemetry works alongside them. Staff can ask for help themselves and most start the same day, without a referral.

What does HR get?

An HR dashboard in the Kinemetry platform (app.kinemetryhealth.com) shows take-up and activity, DSE assessment completion and the most common set-up issues, where in the body aches and pains are being reported, how reported pain is changing across the group, physiotherapist follow-ups opened and closed, and possible workstation equipment needs. Aches and pains reports are anonymised for groups of five or more. Equipment needs are listed by employee, with no health details. Individual clinical details always stay with the physiotherapist.

What do employees need?

Any phone, tablet or computer and a few minutes. Nothing to download.

Does it cover DSE and other workplace set-up?

Yes. Staff complete a short workstation check, get set-up guidance for their role, and you get a record.

For example: a 500-person organisation on an average salary of £35,000 carries an estimated £43,000 a year in direct absence costs. Working through pain, when MSK problems show up as reduced effectiveness rather than a day off, adds a further estimated £308,000. That's an estimated total annual exposure of about £351,000.

How this compares: if you know your own absence rate, we'll show it against the CIPD's 2025 survey of UK employers, which found an average of 9.4 days' sickness absence per employee, up from 7.8 in 2023.

Beyond absence: what you're already carrying

Absence is the easiest cost to see. It isn't the only one. None of these figures are claims about what Kinemetry saves you. They show the exposure independent research says UK employers already carry.

£21bn

a year: the UK government's estimate of lost productivity from people working while unwell, part of an £85bn total annual cost of poor health to UK employers1

32% vs 9%

workers with a physical impairment are more than three times as likely to work while unwell as those without, according to UK academic research2

£17,218

the median UK disability discrimination tribunal award in 2023/24. MSK conditions can qualify as a disability under the Equality Act 2010.3

25%

among over-50s, people with frequent MSK pain were 25% more likely to stop working sooner, in one UK long-term study4

Managing this reactively is also getting more expensive. Employer National Insurance rose to 15% in April 2025, and Statutory Sick Pay has been payable from day one, with no lower earnings limit, since April 2026.

Your compliance record, without extra work

Every workstation check is recorded as staff use the platform, so your DSE record builds as you go. No separate compliance exercise.

What independent research says physiotherapy investment returns

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy's national analysis, using HM Treasury-aligned methods, found that every £1 invested in physiotherapy returns £4 in value, or £1.88bn in net UK benefit a year. That is evidence for physiotherapy investment in general, not a claim about Kinemetry.5

Workplace ergonomics

Set up for every job, not just desks.

Your DSE duty, made simple. Staff complete a short workstation check. They get clear equipment and set-up guidance. You get a record. A physiotherapist can review a photo of the workstation where you need it.

Beyond the desk. Drivers, warehouse teams and shop staff get set-up and technique guidance for their work too, covering driving, lifting and standing roles.

Set-up guidance for every role, and fast physio-led help with aches and pains for everyone. It needs nothing but a phone, tablet or computer and a few minutes.

Why Kinemetry exists

MSK problems look different depending on where you sit.

For an organisation, they can show up as absence, reduced capacity and cost. For the person experiencing them, they mean pain, uncertainty and disruption to everyday life.

Steve and Ella Samuel had spent their careers seeing those different sides of the same problem.

Both started with a foundation in physiotherapy. Their careers then took them in very different directions.

Steve moved into medtech, spending nearly two decades across commercial, product and leadership roles. He saw the organisational impact of MSK problems and the practical challenge of making healthcare solutions work in the real world.

Ella remained close to clinical practice. Over more than sixteen years, her experience has spanned a broad range of musculoskeletal presentations, from complex injuries and rehabilitation to the everyday neck, back and desk-related problems she encountered working with professionals in the City of London.

Those perspectives shaped Kinemetry.

We believe better MSK support has to work for both sides: it needs clinical judgement at its core, while also being practical for organisations to provide.

That principle still shapes how we build Kinemetry today.
